The Compliance Specialist is responsible for a wide range of duties including conducting onsite annual audits, overseeing regional monthly and quarterly community inspections, contract management, maintaining and updating audit forms, conducting follow-ups, providing comprehensive audit training for the company, and new Community Manager onboarding compliance training. This role will also analyze data to identify best practices and minimize risks. Furthermore, they are responsible for creating, updating, and maintaining all Avanti policies, procedures, forms, and supporting documents, and generating communication and education materials related to Avanti compliance for the entire company. They also assist their supervisor with projects as needed. Operating with the highest integrity, this individual ensures transparent reporting of findings to mitigate risk for Avanti at all times.

What You’ll Do…

  • Complete annual compliance audits for each community.
  • Compile and share results of audits and follow-up communications.
  • Complete and facilitate new Community Manager compliance training, follow-up training for improvement with communities that do not receive a passing score on audits, and Ace your Audit classes for the onsite team members.
  • Ensure audit forms and processes align with changing policies and procedures.
  • Create and maintain a recognition program for top audit scores.
  • Manage all policy and procedure changes: provide Policy Edge updates, gather approvals through the Vice President of Performance Development and Executive Vice President (EVP), and provide communication on all updates in Compliance Corner to team members.
  • Contract Management
  • Special projects as assigned and needed by direct supervisor.
  • Assist in compliance investigations as needed and requested by SVP of HR or EVP.

  • Proactive in the necessary education, training, or experience to do the role proficiently.
  • Think innovatively and creatively by anticipating the need for change, nimble and supportive with change management.
  • Offer new, forward-thinking ideas and solutions that help contribute to the company's future.
  • Exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria in obtaining results.
  • Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

What You’ll Need to Qualify…

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, or related field preferred.
  • 3 years of property management experience both onsite and corporate required.
  • Experience in Yardi, AIRM, Edge to Learn property management software required.
  • 2 years of experience with compliance, policy, and training experience in multifamily or related fields preferred.
